Earlier this week, it emerged that some new iPad owners are experiencing overheating problems. Things took a turn for the worse for Apple days later when hundreds of users expressed concern that their new wonder device struggles to connect to wireless networks.
Today, what appears to be another glitch with the device still being informally dubbed the iPad 3 has surfaced. This time, users have taken to Apple forums en masse to complain that their tablet suffers from cripplingly short Canon Nb-8l Battery life and takes aeons to charge.
According to device diagnostic doyennes DisplayMate, the blame rests squarely on the HD display and the battery-hungry LED backlight it uses. The company claims that this tears through power at three times the rate of the iPad 2.
Raymond Soneira of DisplayMate told CNET: “The power consumption of the LEDs is 2.5 times that of iPad 2, and the battery is 1.7 times larger - if you run your new iPad at full brightness, the Studio 1537 Battery run time is less because you only put in 70 per cent more battery but you're using 150 per cent more power.”
Apple has yet to acknowledge reports of battery longevity problems. But as soon as it does, we’ll let you know.
In the meantime if you’re one of those affected by sub-par Fujifilm Np-40 Battery life, tell us about it in the comments section below.
